Greetings!
KAIST Animal Care and Use Training Seminar will take place on February 24th(Thursday) 2011.
This seminar is part of annual or semi-annual offline seminars offered by the Office of Research Affairs
that teach the rules and regulations regarding laboratory animals and animal experiments for researchers
engaged in on-campus animal testing.
Those who complete this training are given individual “training certification numbers” (that do not need to be renewed).
All researchers are asked to fill in their training certification numbers upon applying for IACUC research review. Due to laws and
Campus Regulations, those who do not complete the user training on laboratory animals cannot take part in animal testing
and are excluded from the project until they have completed the training.
If you are planning to conduct animal testing, you must attend this training seminar. Also, please inform the students
and researchers in your lab about the training seminar, especially those who have not completed the user training on laboratory animals.
The training schedule is as follows.

☐ Participants : All KAIST Researchers using or caring for animals in their experiments
☐ Host : KAIST IACUC(Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) and Office of Research affairs

Pre-registration is required for participating in the user training on laboratory animals. To sign up for this seminar,
please e-mail bumi@kaist.ac.kr. You should write down your name, department, position and ID number in the e-mail.
If there is more than one person from your lab who is planning to attend this training seminar, one person can apply
as the representative of a lab. However, you should write down everyone's applicant information in the e-mail.
※. If you are not, or have not been, able to complete the on-campus training on animal testing for some unavoidable reasons,
you may take part in training sessions provided by government agencies (e.g. NVRQS, KFDA) or other universities and
research institutes. Training sessions that you completed in countries other than Korea are also acknowledged.
Please provide IACUC with the documentary evidence that you did complete the training, and we will review the
documentation and issue a training certification number.
※. IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) Regular Review will be held in early March.

연구처에서는 연 1~2회 동물실험 관련 연구자를 대상으로 실험동물 관련 제도 및 동물실험에 대한 교육을 실시하고 있습니다.
본 교육 참석자에게는 개인별 교육이수번호가 발급되며(갱신할 필요 없음), 이 교육이수번호는
동물실험 연구심의 신청 시 제출서류에 반드시 기재하도록 되어있습니다. 또한 「실험동물에관한법률」및 원내 규정에 따라
동물교육 미 이수자는 교내에서 동물실험을 할 수 없으며, 추후 교육을 받을 때까지 한시적으로 프로젝트의 참여연구원에서 제외해야 합니다.
교내에서 동물실험을 실시할 예정인 교수님께서는 본 교육에 꼭 참석해 주시고, 아직 동물교육을 이수하지 못한
