[Notice] The matter related to immigration office : Announcement for Students with foreign

nationality

1.Article related to this matter : Article 19-4 Immigration Act

2.It\'s obligation charged on school to report the information of changed status

of students if graduation(students for degree) or end of registration ( exchange students) is happened. Therefore, please refer to following information, cooperate with school, and manage the matters related to your visa.

 

- Announcement -

A. The date of graduation(for degree students)and end of registration (for exchange students) : January 30 2009

B. Matters required your attention

1) Students

(1) Students who possess Student Visa(such as D2)

① Even though the expired date of you visa is left, you must leave Korea or

get departure order from immigration office within 15days from the date of

graduation or end of registration.

② You must extend the period of your visa or get other visa which suites your

purpose of staying(the visa allows your activity in Korea).

(2) Student whose real nationality is different from the one registered in

academic registration system of KAIST.

① The student is required to report the real nationality to the staff of academic

registrar\'s team at KAIST with the form of declaration of nationality attached

the copy of alien registration card and passport. Especially, the student will be

graduated from school on January 30 2009, the students must report real

nationality until January 9 2008

② In case of person with dual nationality, the student is required to check

nationality and the student is required to report nationality after nationality

decided ,after student chooses and declares the nationality to the immigration

office. And it\'s student\'s obligation to perform all duties as

a foreigner in Korea, such as management of visa and so on.

(3) Obligation to report changes to the details in Foreign Registration Record

in system of immigration office

: If any information related to immigration office is changed, it must be reported to

Academic registrar’s team, as well.

 

(3) If any disadvantage -fine for default charged by immigration office, and,

problem with issuance or extension of visa, and so on- is happened caused by

the student who fails to perform the obligation mentioned above and so on,(report of

real nationality or other changed information related to foreign registration in

immigration office to academic registrar\'s team and management of visa and so on),

the student must submit the disadvantage and be responsible for them.

- your failure to keep your duties may cause problem for other students visa

issuance and extension based on KAIST, and fine can be charged on school.

(4) If exchange student has intention to study or do research in KAIST even

less than one month after the end date of registration, you must apply for

extension of studying to the department/major that the student belongs to and

international relations at KAIST.And the department accepts the application

must inform that information to academic registrar\'s team with official docu

ments. In case of Fall Semester 2008, that report must be done until

December, 2008.
