Must read the changes for deliberation of conferment and graduation requirement of doctorate in department of Bio and Brain Engineering and criteria for deliberation of conferment of doctorate in College of Life Science and Bioengineering.
- 바이오및뇌공학과에서는 학생의 입학년도에 관계없이 우수 국제 학술지SCI/SCIE급 저널에 주저자 (제1저자 혹은 교신저자)로 참여하는 경우
박사학위를 수여하는 조건을 원칙으로 한다.
- 기존의 ‘교수별 추천’ (추천졸업)은 유지하지 않음.
- 적용시기: 2014년 2월 졸업생부터 적용.
- The department of Bio and Brain Engineering grants a doctorate in case of lead author (first author or corresponding author) at superior international SCI/SCIE academic journal regardless of admission year.
- Does not maintain 'professor recommendation'(recommendationgraduation).
- Time of application: Applied from February 2014 graduates

5인 이상의 다수공저논문인 경우 학과장추천시『다수인 공저시 기여도 의견서』를 생략할 수 있다.
In case of the journal containing 5 or more co-author, if the journal is recommended by the dean, 『a written opinion for level of contribution when many persons co-write』can be skip.

공동 제1저자가 2명이상인 경우 지도교수가 제시한 공저의견 1인(50%이상)을 인정하며, 다른 공동 제1저자는 그 논문으로 졸업 할 수 없음.
When the journal contains 2 or more co-first author, One co-first author (more 50%) is recognized according to co-authorship opinion suggested by supervisor, the other co-first author can not graduate with the journal.

각 학과별 졸업사정 심의를 위하여 학과내 학위수여심의회를 구성하기로 하고 차기 졸업사정(2014년 2월 졸업)부터 운영하기로 함.
The council of deliberation of degree conferment is formed for deliberation of graduation assessment in each department, operated from next graduation assessment. (February 2014 graduates).

국비 또는 KAIST장학생인 박사과정 학생이 저널에 논문을 게재할 경우 주지도교수가 반드시 교신저자에 포함되어야 함을 원칙으로 하며 특별한 경우 주지도교수의 사유서를 제출받아 심의하기로 함.
When doctoral student in a state scholarship student or KAIST scholarship student published thesis, main supervisor is certainly contained as corresponding author. In special case, statement of reasons of main supervisor is submitted and the student undergo deliberated for graduation acknowledgment.

학위 종류 중 이학석사, 이학박사와
공학석사, 공학박사를 선택 할 수 있도록 되어 있는 경우 1과목 이상의 공학교과목을 이수하여야 공학석사,공학박사학위를 수여하기로 함.
In case of choosing one degree among Master of Science, Doctor of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Engineering, if you are granted Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Engineering, and then you have to pass one or more engineering course.

In case of general scholarship student, the first affiliated organization written in the journal have to be KAIST. And you can add own affiliated organization.
