<Abstract>
The cerebral cortex plays a significant role in
higher information processing of the brain.
Electrophysiological measurement like EEG and
functional neuroimaging techniques inlcuding
fMRI and PET have been intensively performed to
explore complex dynamics of neurons and their
networks in the cerebral cortex. Recently,
nonlinear dynamics and complexity theory in the
field of physics have been used to understand
physiological mechanisms underlying cortical
functions. This talk will focus on analysis and
modeling of spatio-temporal patterns of EEG and
fMRI and their applications to brain-machine
interface and neuropsychiatric diseases.
