Creating innovative bio-convergent technologies for better human life

제목: 뇌 기반 인공지능: 기계 학습 이론과 기능적 자기공명영상 기법의 결합 Brain-inspired AI: machine learning and model-based fMRI

주제: This talk is intended to demonstrate how to put together ideas from nascent fields of decision neuroscience and artificial intelligence to gain a better appreciation of the nature of human intelligence, especially the ability of human cognitive processes to effectively perform a wide range of tasks. First, I will briefly introduce a few learning and inference models to account for complex human behavior patterns, and explain how to apply these models to functional neuroimaging data (“model-based fMRI”). This approach allows us to find new evidence suggesting that (1) the brain is a complex system consisting of multiple subsystems for learning about the world, and (2) the brain provides a hierarchical control mechanism, telling other brain regions engaging in different learning functions when they should get involved in controlling our behavior. Lastly, I will present recent findings further demonstrating how the brain’s hierarchical control system deals with the uncertainty and the complexity of the environment.
