Exploring of mitosis & application to drug discovery

[Abstract]
Great progress in cell and molecular biology for last decades enabled us to develop a lot of application systems in medicine, life sciences and biomedical engineering. Cell cycle and mitosis is fundamental phenomena of life and is one of the member of these application fields. To achieve proper segregation of genetic information to two nascent cells, mitosis is elaborate process requiring spatial and temporal coordination of a lot of cellular components including kinases, phosphatases, and other structural components. In post-genome era there are still a lot of proteins to be characterized and to be re-evaluated. In this seminar some stuffs of my past and current work in field of cell cycle and mitosis research will be introduced.
1. Characterization of role of mitotic polo-like kinase using dominant negative.
2. Molecular characterization of Novel cdk1 inhibitor
3. Discovery of novel mitotic regulators using proteomics tools
